Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 50131
Alignment import-export bug with MathType (alignr, alignl, alignc)
Last modified: 2013-08-07 14:54:45 UTC
In a document text, I create the formula "A+1 newline alignl B newline alignr C newline alignc D" then save the document as equ_OOo2.odt then as equ_OOo2.doc MS Word 97 document. Then I close the document and reopen the MS Word 97 one: B, C and D are centered because the formula is "alignc { stack { size 12{ ital "A+""1 "} {} # size 12{B} {} # size 12{C} {} # size 12{D} {} } } {}"
Created attachment 26757 [details] Original multi-alignment formula
Created attachment 26758 [details] Same formula converted into MS Word 97
Adding Regina to C.C..
I can confirm this on WinXP with OOo1.9.113. But I think, that there is a fundamental problem. You cannot align single lines in Word97 with an alignment but only the whole stack. In Word97 you can only align the single characters with dragging. So the alignment in OOo must be faked somehow for Word97 and reimport cannot know, that there was an alignment before.
Due to resource limitation this will be fixed for successor of OO 2.0.
