Description dskene 2005-05-22 21:23:10 UTC
Given that Spreadsheet A has links to Spreadsheet B and Shreadsheet C.
Spreadsheet B has links to Spreadsheet D.
All files are saved.
Spreadsheet D then has changes made and saved.
If Spreadsheet A is then opened (also happens the same if open and links are
updated) in the current Beta (and previous betas) the changes made in
Spreadsheet D will not ripple through to Spreadsheet A. They should.
This used to work in ver 1.1.4 and works in other products like Excel.
It worked in ver 1.1.4, presumably because all of the files were actually
opened and appeared on the desktop. While all of the files appearing was
annoying, it at least worked for linked sheets like in this example.

Hi,

please attach some documents that show how they are linked.

Hi Niklas,

if the second file is closed and update link in the first file is triggered, we
do not open the second file anymore, so the link to the third file isn't updated.

Please have a look.

reassigning (this is only about DDE links, SvxInternalLink)
Comment 5 Mathias_Bauer 2005-08-15 16:34:56 UTC
On executing the link a proper UpdateDocMode was missing
Comment 6 Mathias_Bauer 2005-09-01 09:46:58 UTC
Fix works, Calc doesn't update the display correctly, but deselecting the cell
and possibly selecting it again does it.
I don't know wether this happens only on my system or everywhere, and I also
don't know wether this is so serious that it should be fixed in OOo2.0.1 also.
But anyway, this would be a bugfix in Calc and it is not necessary to do it in
this CWS because it is present on the master also.
