Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 4944
Copying and pasteing bitmaps (from PSP) and files to Writer doesn't work
Last modified: 2013-08-07 14:43:39 UTC
When you create a bitmap in Paint Shop Pro and try to copy and paste it to the writer app, nothing happens. The same goes for files copied from an explorer window. Both things work in Word and I think they should work in Open Office, too.
Duplicate on Win NT 4.0, OO 1.0.1, PSP 7.04 eval. Pasting images copied to the clipboard from PSP ( PaintShop Pro ) requires the user to select the Paste Special option. The user would like to be able to use the Paste option. Robert thanks for posting this issue. OO 1.0.1 will paste the graphics into the document if you use the "Paste Special" option inside the Edit menu.
Reassigned to Éric.
ES->DVO: duplicated on a 644s. I'll add a CLP file from Windows. Notice: JP's clipviewer will crash on refresh or refuse to start when a PSP graphic is in the clipboard! I'd guess it's a PSP bug...
Created attachment 4655 [details] CLP Windows file
to dvo
dvo->es: Works for me... I can paste the '.clp' file with no problems, in 644s as well. How should the bug be prioritized? DEFECT/P4/OO 1.1 ?
ES->DVO: Sorry, I thought the .CLP file would help but it does not. Pasting directly from PSP offers 2 clipboard formats - GDI Metafile - Bitmap -> GDI Metafile pastes nothing. And it's the format we choose as default in this context. The PSP GDI Metafile format used to work in a version prior to 6xx.
.
PSP delivers WMF and EMF in the clipboard. In sot/.../formats.cxx(1.14.2.3, line 1539 et sqq.) these are transcoded to GDI-Metafile. When pasting, a GDI-Metafile is requested, which is not available.
TransferableDataHelper::GetGDIMetaFile: EMF is tried -> no data available WMF is tried -> UnsupportedFlavorException in CDOTransferable::getClipboardData -> return false in TransferableDataHelper::GetSotStorageStream
