using binaries of 619 on a linux/mdk7.2 with recompiled 2.4.1 kernel and XFree86
4.0.2 also compiled on this system.

loads Excel (.xls) spreadsheet without any problems. Saves it as a .sdc without
problems.  When I do a Save As, and ask for Excel97/2000 format, I get an
unrecoverable error message, and the program aborts entirely.

Spreadsheet has images and drawings embedded in it; haven't tried to pull those
out yet.  Will do so when I can.  Spreadsheet available on request

Probably no prob within the excel export but I'll keep this until I've 
cleared up exactly who has to fix this.

should be fixed with 625, tested on Sparc with 626 and workded
