Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 48907
setting tab stops on ruler in Impress
Last modified: 2013-02-07 22:43:28 UTC
Hi, Maybe this is a feature request, maybe a bug: When I create a tab stop in Impress, I cannot make it anything besides a left-stop on the rule. In writer, when you double-click on a tab stop you're taken to the paragraph edit dialog and can change its type. Also, the icon at the left end of the ruler lets you select what tab stops you create. Neither of these works for me in Impress. I'm using OOo 2.0 beta, build 1.9.100, on a windows XP machine. Thanks, and keep up the great work on OOo! David Strozzi
Reassigned. Bug or feature?
You can change the tabs in 'Format / Paragraph' I thing changing the tabs in the ruler is an enhancement.

Thanks for valuable feedback (via email private email): ... I fired up OOo 2.4 under opensuse, and lo, tab stops work in impress! You can't change them from being left-justified, but that's fine. I'd close out this issue. ... I have just tested with 2.4 and confirm that the original enhancement request has not been addressed - and would be useful (to replicate the behaviour of Writer). Therefore, setting Issue to confirmed and leaving Open. Regards Andrew
