Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 48807
OO 2 Beta doesn't open stw files correctly
Last modified: 2013-08-07 14:41:36 UTC
I created several stw files with OO 1.1.4 that are not displayed correctly when used in OO 1.9.79. The whole "header" is missing.

Created attachment 25847 [details] how it is displayed in OO 1.1.4
Reassigned to ES.
This is a normal behavior. The "Fixed content" options of fields only works (fields are not updated) in normal text documents: The author of a document does not want to see his data modified with the data of other persons he may give this document for review. On the other hand, when creating a document from a template, the fields need to be updated to reflect the user data used in the current installation. To get back your data in the document: - fill in your user dat under Tools - Options Or - Change the template writing your data as plain text.

Sorry if I just didn't understand your explanations correctly but I don't think this should be closed as invalid. Maybe my bug report was a bit to vague. I know that the values in fixed fields won't be updated but and this is not the issue I'm mentioning. The problem is that if I create new files from this template in OO 2.0 beta then the whole header (which you can see in my png screenshot already attached) is _missing_. This is not about the values inside these fields it is about the fields themselves being absent! I'll attach a screenshot how it looks in my OO 2.0 beta. Reopening this bug. Sorry if I'm wrong.

Ok, now I understand what you mean (I thought you were talking about the "content" of the header). 1) I heard about such *page style* wrong imports recently ("First page" reset to "Default") so I can guess it is the bug you are pointing at. 2) I cannot reproduce it in a current (src680m102) version. So, Maybe it has been fixed. Or you have something special on your machine. I tested with Linux SuSE 8.1 and 9.2 and the header is there in both cases. So, please install the latest build and check it out. Also tell us on which system you are working on.
fs -> es: Thanks for your comment. Using SRC680_m100_native_packed-1_en-US.8909 on Windows 2000 it works now. Requesting close as "worksforme". fs
