Description Unknown 2002-05-14 16:46:25 UTC
Operating System: Linux
Platform: PC
Kernel: 2.4.18-4
GLIBC: 2.2.5
Distribution: RedHat 7.3
Java: JRE-1.4.0 (Sun Microsystems)

The installation of OpenOffice crashes consistently on this platform. Only
started after upgrade to RH7.3. I believe that it is GLIBC 2.2.5 related.

Here is the last 15 lines of the trace:

Your trace shows a lot of font stuff. Have you checked
http://www.openoffice.org/FAQs/fontguide.html?
I hope that this FAQ could help.

Bingo!

/usr/local/share/fonts/ttfonts had corrupted fonts or something
that OpenOffice did not like (at all). Moved directory, created
empty directory - presto!

Here's the old directory listing:

Thanks for the pointer to that great font FAQ.
