Description Unknown 2002-05-13 00:54:13 UTC
Only a subset of all fields available in Outlook is available from Data Source
Administration.
Comment 1 lohmaier 2002-10-30 21:14:05 UTC
Not a wordprocessor issue. Reassigning.
Please give examples of the missing fields and please try again with a
current build.
Comment 2 Frank Schönheit 2002-10-31 09:53:45 UTC
not sure whether this is a defect. Accessing Outlook address books
works via the Mozilla XPCOM API, and thus the restriction is by design
(Mozilla does not know more fields than the ones we provide).

maybe related: issue 5272

CC'ing John Marmion to attract his attention. John, maybe this is an
indicator that there will be a time where we do need native address
book access :). An other alternative I could imagine is to enable
"generic" fields in the Mozilla address book API, instead of the fixed
set. So an address book implementation could tell that it has
additional fields, which then could be exposed in a generic way. Just
an idea.

Comment 4 john.marmion 2002-11-05 12:04:18 UTC
The Outlook fields, as Frank outlined, are those that are mapped to
the Mozilla Address Book fields only from which the OOo Address Book
data
source is based. This mapping exists here:

http://dba.openoffice.org/FAQ/Outlook_field_mapping.html

Thus I would agree that there is a case for accessing the Outlook
fields other than these and yes there are a quite a few of those, I
would argue that this is an enhancement request rather than a defect.
Comment 5 Frank Schönheit 2002-11-05 12:20:43 UTC
John, I support this argueing :)
Comment 6 john.marmion 2002-11-12 09:45:50 UTC
I have created issue #9162 which deals with data loss between the
mapped Outlook and OOo fields. But my presumption is that this bug is
not about the existing mapping, but the ones that are not mapped.
Comment 7 john.marmion 2002-11-12 11:59:14 UTC
sorry that last comment should read issue #9160.

Address book datasource has been removed from wizard (see issue 124183).
So, obsolete now.
