Description purtill 2005-03-28 23:00:29 UTC
Running Mandrake 10.1

I do File > New > Presentation;
In wizard: Create;
Selected layout with title and outline (the 3rd on the top row);
Clicked on title;
Typed something like "oink\nz\nz\nz\nz"
(at this point there is "oinkzzzz" at the top of the title and several
blank lines). Used "delete" to delete all the blank lines, then
"backspace" to delete the text. The another "\n" and at that point
(or perhaps when I typed the next character, another newline I think),
OOo suddenly became unresponsive, and its CPU use went to near 100%,
with ever increasing memory use. (Note that the exact text does not
appear important, but perhaps the newlines and deleting is).

At this point, OOo's GUI became unresponsive, the soffice.bin program used
nearly 100% of the CPU, and it rapidly started using more and more memory. At
this point I killed it.

Probably related: when I restarted OOo, it brought up the recovery dialog; I
clicked on "recover document" and it brought up the presentation wizard (where I
again clicked Create). After that, I clicked on 'Next' and started filling out
the the Error Report. After I got to the middle of the first line of the second
box, I got a hang and 100% CPU usage as before.

Do you mean the layout title, text masterpage icon?
(other people use different resolutions, so we have different number of
masterpage icons per row..)
Comment 7 purtill 2005-04-05 18:57:48 UTC
Sorry, yes, the \ns represent hitting the enter key.
I'll attach the image of the icon I clicked on since I can't think of any better
way to describe it.

I can't reproduce the bug on my JDS. I'll test it soon on a Mandrake Linux.

I cannot confirm in 1.9.92 on Win XP and no one can confirm in linux, so I am
marking worksforme.

Yes, this appears to be fixed in 1.9.91-1. Thank you.
