Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 45567
Calc crash during Page overview when SUM function is present on the list
Last modified: 2005-03-21 09:05:35 UTC
In Calc I have a simple two column table: first column - date, second column - currency sum. In the end of the second column is SUM() of this column. Around the table there is a border (I tried to remove a border - it doesn't make difference). I start page overview [icon with page and magnifier over it]. Sometimes OO crashes just after starting to show the page, sometimes after some pressing of Zoom in and Zoom out, sometimes when I close overview and then open it again. If I remove SUM, Calc doesn't crash. There is some text around, anther table, but no other functions are used in the file. I tried removing everything, but the table with the function, and Calc still crashed. There were enough PC resources - CPU usage under 30 %, free RAM and virtual memory. No sign of excessive resource consumption. Crash was fast and clear. Immediatly after crash document restore dialog showed - no not-saved files were not restored (there was only one open). After dialog confirmation, OO.o was quickly restarted with no document opened.

Probably this is not an issue of Calc functions (like Sum, round etc.). It seems to be issue of Preview in Calc itself. Tried this on another WXP Pro (the same version) and it is the same. Tried this on W98 - same. Calc crashed OO.org even when I had a new unsaved list with only one char on the list. But to cause crash I Zoomed In and Out very fast and switched between normal mode and preview. When this function is forced to process some larger amount of data, OO.org crashes. When I have table say 10x4 full of numbers, it is really easy to force crash.
