Description vd 2002-05-05 21:04:16 UTC
Printer: HP Deskjet 855c

The OO 1.0 does not print documents with bold text.
Always prints them with the same font (whem using bold text).
Comment 1 vd 2002-05-05 21:14:15 UTC
This is not a printer problem, because the Abiword can print bold,
such as other word programs.

I used Verdana, Times New Roman and Arial fonts.
None could be printed correctly.
The text printed was the same as the bold text printed.

Same problem. OpenOffice.org1.0 using lprng with gs/gimpprint drivers
on Debian GNU/Linux woody. Added printer driver via spadmin with ppd
file from foomatic. Printer otherwise prints fine except in OO.o.
Some fonts print in all bold (arial) while others print no bold
(helvetica, georgia).

I was looking for another bug and came acroos issue 4366. If you make
user/psprint/pspfontcache empty and read only, this issue goes away.

The 'psfontcache' trick does not work for me using SuSE 8.0 with
Microsoft TrueType fonts installed.

Thorndale and Times do not work - no bold characters; Times New Roman
does work.

You have to do the 'psfontcache'-trick also in the network
installation directory: from issue 4366:

Just do a
    rm pspfontcache
    touch pspfontcache
    chmod 444 pspfontcache
in the user/psprint directory of a user installation or in the
share/psprint directory otherwise.

I did it in both and it works now.
