Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 45020
Error Loading Basic
Last modified: 2005-08-05 09:05:10 UTC
I have noticed that lately when I close a file in text, I recieve the following [ Error Loading Basic if document file:///:C:/Program% 20files/OpenOffice.org1.1.3.0oo/user basic/dialog.xic/:General Error General Input/Out Put Error. This doesn't make a lot of sence seeings that I can still print the file and modify my journal on a daily basis. But when I go to close any file I recieve the above message. Is there anyway to correct this, or do I have to re-load the software. Last time it took forever to down load and I ended up using Java program to assist. Also is it,{ Java } needed to run the program? Thanks, Beekers

I am sorry if I don't understand everything that is being talked about? All I know is that I get a general Error input and output when closing a file in text. So far it has not interfeared with the print mode, so I don't know. Thank you all for your help. I realize it is hard to discuss something of this nature to someone who doesn't really understand, THANKS ANYWAY: Beekers
hi Beekers, the latest actions in this task just mean that your problem has been reported several times and that an older issue exists (issue #28593) for the same problem. All further actions will be tracked in the "older" issue from now on.
leaving the task as resolved/fixed to keep it out of the statistics.
Always happens when older (OOo 1.x) files are involved. I cannot reproduce the problem in clean installs. Closing

I get the same error in V1.1.4 There doesn't seem to be any solution offered here. I have to click "OK" about 20 times before it goes away. The file eventually gets saved, but this is a nuisance. Any ideas about how to get rid of it? I've tried "repair"-ing reinstalling. Has the issue been resolved and can anyone help me get rid of this occurrence please?
Hi Kiwijohn, this is weird. I thought we found all occurrences of this problem. Obviously not :-( Is moving to the OOo 2.0 codeline an option for you?
