Description vstarre 2005-03-09 03:12:20 UTC
I've recently discovered that the resume I've been sending out, written in OOo,
looks very different when viewed with MSWord. The differences seem to be related
to my home address being right-aligned on the top of the document (with my name
and phone number left-aligned on the same line).
In OOo, it appears as intended. In Word, the first difference is the address
section, rather than being right-aligned within the margins, it appears on the
far right of the document, well outside the document margins.
The most prominent difference comes in the sections immediately following the
address line, where skills are listed. This entire section (minus the section
headers), seems to be right-aligned (there is a right-anchor beyond the page
margin it seems to be attached to). It should merely be slightly indented. (the
indent appears to be there as well, but combined with the alignment difference
it just seems even further to the right.
The difference should be obvious when viewed side-by-side. Please e-mail me if
there are any questions.

getting back to you)

Referring to the issue_submitting:guidelines, this is an invalid issue.

1. File reports for EVERY problem. Collective tasks like this cannot be
processed suitable, though they all refer to problems in the Ms Word filter.

2. A sample file for such filter problems is crucial on reproducing and fixing
the bug.

Please file new issues for every problem and attach a small sample (the smaller
the better) to it. Thanks for your patience!

I dont know what multiple issues you are talking about, this is all a single
issue, as far as I am aware. Though it shows up in multiple ways, as far as I
can tell it only has one cause- which should have been obvious if you looked at
the document, which was provided, so I dont see what you're talking about there,
either.
I've attached the document directly, now. Previously I had linked to the document.

vstarre, just to be fair, I can't see where there was a linked document before,
either.

Regardless, after looking at the attached file side by side in Word and OOo
1.9.84, I see that the file in OOo has text that is much closer to the left side
of the page than it is in Word.

This appears to be one issue to me as well.

Confirming as a new issue.

Problem here is, that there are tab stops to the right of of the right paragraph
indent (outside margin). OO Writer is currently not designed to process such tab
stops.

MRU->CJ: This has not been taken in mind by defining the compatibility behaviour
in the spec
http://specs.openoffice.org/writer/compatibility/tabstop_compatibility.sxw. This
shouild be done somehow for the future.
