Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 43599
inconsistent behaviour of new document button, always the last type should be kept
Last modified: 2013-02-07 21:53:50 UTC
I found some inconsistencies concerning the new-document drop-down-button of the Standard-toolbar, if when using it to creat new documents: - calc: the button stays as calc-button while the document is open. after closing the document it changes back to writer-button - impres: - after confirming the window to create the new document ("Presentation Wizard", the button changes back to writer - if the "Presentation Wizard" is canceled, the impress-button is kept - drawing behaves like calc - database behaves like impress (with "Database Wizard" instead of "Presentation Wizard" ==> applications with wizard change the button back to writer before closing the docuent, while applications without wizard change back the button to writer when closing the document. Further on the applications with wizard keep there button when canceling the wizard. I don't like these inconsistent behaviours. In my oppinion always the last button should be kept so that a single click on this button always opens a document of the last used type!
reassigned to cj mci -> cj: Please have a look at this issue. I didn't find a spec (-entry) which about this issue... Office should show either the icons of the current used documenttype or should always show the same icon...
CJ: Confirmed; changed target to "OOo Later".
