Description Unknown 2002-05-01 23:20:19 UTC
This is a defect for 1.0 (not 642)

Steps to reproduce:

(1) create a simple presentation. 1 slide is enough
(2) select menu "Slide Show>Slide Transition" and assign
the presentation "Fly In From Left" to a slide.
(3) run the slide show or the preview

Effect: OpenOffice 1.0 freezes when the show reaches the
transition.

Reassigned to Christian.
Comment 2 christian.guenther 2002-05-15 09:50:22 UTC
I tested all slide transitions and everything works fine. I don't get
a freez.
Comment 3 christian.guenther 2002-05-15 09:50:39 UTC
I close this Issue.
Comment 4 Unknown 2002-05-15 17:50:02 UTC
I have identified the problem. Some transitions have sounds and
OO blocks when 'esd' (the gnome sound deamon) is running.

This is a known problem of esd. Any application accessing /dev/dsp
will block until esd is killed.

Please have a look to the comment from Stephane Chauveau.
Comment 6 Unknown 2002-05-23 17:54:08 UTC
One more detail. The problem is not limited to esd.
Any program that opens /dev/dsp in writing mode will
do block OO.

For example, a simple way to reproduce it is to run
the following command in a shell:

cat > /dev/dsp
