Description ddrennan 2005-02-23 09:40:06 UTC
When I open (import) a MS Word (.doc) (97/2000/XP) document with hyperlinks in
the document the hyperlinks are corrupted. The imported file and the hyperlinked
file are both on a Windows network. This does not occur on OOo 1.1.4.

The hyperlink (as expected and also seen on OOo 1.1.4) is
"file://server/public/admin/aWordDoc.doc", and becomes "http://aWordDoc.doc/" on
OOo 1.9.79

I created a small document containing a hyperlink. This will be imported
correctly in my 680m80. Could you please test your m79 with this? If you do not
encounter the problem with the attached doc, please attach your sample to this
issue. Thanks a lot!

Comment 4 ddrennan 2005-02-24 05:42:33 UTC
Your file imported correctly for me on 680m79

I've attached the file that I've had problems with. Could this possibly be
related to the hyperlink being \\server\admin\xxx.doc instead of
file://server/admin/xxx.doc?
Comment 5 ddrennan 2005-02-24 06:02:34 UTC
Sorry, forget that last comment about file://server and \\server. Had a look at
the document in word.

I tried adding a link by typing in the link to your 43369.doc and found that it
imported correctly. I then added another link and browsed for the file to add
the link. The link which is added by browsing does not import correctly. Have a
look at 43369_with_broken_link.doc

MRU->FLR: have a look at the last Hyperlink in the document (latest attachment).
This one is imported as http link (wasn't like this in 1.1.4).
Comment 9 andreas.martens 2005-03-01 16:53:37 UTC
If it's not fixed in time for OOo2.0, it should be fixed for OOo2.0.1.
Comment 10 andreas.martens 2005-05-25 14:48:20 UTC
Considering the effort, the priority, the risk and our resource planning I've to
retarget this issue to OOo Later.
Comment 11 bodo_riediger 2005-12-27 14:38:42 UTC
Not resolved in 2.0.1 on linux or windows. This is what keeps our company from
changing to OO. I could supply more examples.
Comment 12 sgautier.ooo 2006-03-21 17:22:48 UTC
Hi Florian,
Could you please try to push this issue in 2.0.3 timeframe. This is in fact a
regression that prevent several of our users to migrate on 2.x and prevent the
others to use it. Thanks in advance for anything you can do for it.
Kind regards - Sophie

Waiting patiently for this bug to be fixed. We're trying to standardize on OO in
an application that uses many cross-linked documents. Obviously, this bug
presents a problem.

assigning to hbrinkm

Comment 16 ddrennan 2006-12-13 10:33:46 UTC
Okay, OOo 2.1, still no resolution. Surely this is a big barrier to entry when
crossing over from MS Word to OOo?
