Description Unknown 2002-04-30 11:09:50 UTC
During installation and also any time there is a dialoge box that needs to be
filled out (i.e. naming while saving a file) the fonts are all garbled. They are
barely legible. There are think vertival lines through most of the text. If I go
back and highlight the text with the mouse or shift+directional keys the
distortion mostly clears away. However, I am planning on moving our whole office
to Open Office and I cannot do that until this is cleared up (you know how picky
Windows users can be about UI).
As a side note, the same thing happened with StarOffice 5.2 and it has happened
on all three systems I have tested it on. All the systems are different except
maybe that they are all Athlons.

One more thing... all the computers have NVIDIA cards using the original kernel
driver. They all have different NVIDIA cards, but I thought maybe it ight still
provide a clue. I will try installing the NVIDIA driver and see what happens.

Guess what!
It works fine with the NVIDIA driver in there. So there is something
funky about Open Office and the Open Source kernel Nvidia driver.
