Filter for lotus files i.e. wk? extensions does not work. Am I doing something
wrong?...can not open any lotus files, but if I save a lotus file as an excel
file....no problem opening in Openoffice.org and/ or Star office... Our company
has been lotus based for years...would like to use Openoffice or
Staroffice...is it possible to convert lotus files? Help...

Hi Sean,

the wk? filter is a rudimentary filter, so feel free to enhance them.

Please set the priority more precissly the next time. Maybe this
filter has a high priority for you, but not necessarily for the
project. Prio 1 or 2 are used for crashes and not available applications.

Best regards

Frank

Hi Falko,

More insights... the OpenOffice spreadsheet filter seems to recognize
only obsolete 1-2-3 files (.WK1). An updated filter should import
files with extensions .123 (versions 9.x, Lotus 97), WK4, WK3 & WK1.
I've created some very simple samples to illustrate the problem.
Please check above. All other formats give 'Unknown file format'
errors. (Suggestion -- change summary to 'Spreadsheet filter
recognizes only obsolete Lotus 1-2-3 files' or similar)

As already stated by Frank this filter is outdated and rudimentary.
We will not continiue work on this filter.
The only filter we pro-actively work on are the MS Office 97/2k/XP ones.

My issue seems to be the same as 4147 except I cannot open _any_ Lotus file into
OO Calc whether the file is .wk1 .wks or .123.

These files import ok into gnumeric but I don't want to use that!

What happens is I get the very first cell in A1 but nothing else.
