Description harald.schilly 2002-04-18 20:14:29 UTC
The problem is that the content of a formula (if embedded in a Text-Document or
only in the Formula-Program) gets changed if you save the file and open it again.
It occurs for the formula "h %ny" (and "h %my") which gets mixed up to "h nuy"
(resp. "h muy") [where "h" could be any letter; more important seems to be the
space in front of "%ny"]

This is a little bit weird and does not happen for all special characters, but
it is reproduceable if you follow those steps:
1) open a new TextDocument or FomulaSession
2) enter the formula "h %ny"
3) it sould display "h v". correct.
4) now save the Document/Formula temporarily
5) close/open the file or file>reload
then the "%ny" is wrong.

I use 641D (german) under Windows 2000.

P.S.:
1) this also applies for Version 642B (english)
2) this bug has been verified by one other windows 98 user.
3) this does not happen in linux, but a formula like this saved in linux and
then opened in windows shows "%y" insted of "%ny"

Joost->Hasan: reassigned to you...please have a look at it.
Comment 2 h.ilter 2002-04-26 13:46:02 UTC
This is a case for MRU
Comment 3 moali 2002-05-21 23:05:10 UTC
Quite simiar effect with OOo 1.0 in Linux:
Some of the "%my" change to "muy" (without "%") and some of the "%ny"
to "nuy".
In a document always the same mys and nys seem to change; I was not
able to reproduce which ones.

The change occurs on save -> reload. (or save -> exit -> load) (like
the OP reported)
Comment 4 djago 2002-07-24 18:57:36 UTC
Same for me... If I put %my alone in a formula it works ok (usless,
but works perfectly ;) ). If I put anything before (i.e sum %my_{j}) I
get the aftermentioned bug...
I'm using WinXP and 1.0.0 Spanish version of oo.
Comment 5 harald.schilly 2002-07-24 19:24:43 UTC
and yes, as Fernando mentoned it's the same for me -> bug still there
(I'm using 1.0.1 (de) on Win2k)
Comment 6 caolanm 2002-07-25 09:14:35 UTC
Perhaps similiar to issue 4866 ?
Comment 7 michael.ruess 2002-07-26 13:31:08 UTC
MRU->TL: yes, looks like #4866. Seems like this occurs in all
non-english versions of OpenOffice.
Comment 8 harald.schilly 2002-07-26 17:48:49 UTC
@MRU: no, this issue 4125 also happens in exactly the same way as it
is mentioned here in OOo version 642 EN -> so this one is not
language-specific.
Comment 9 thomas.lange 2002-07-29 15:16:53 UTC
Please check if it is a file format problem.
That is check if this happens also if you save in "Star Writer 5.0"
or "Star Math 5.0" format.
You may also check if thi still happens in OO 1.0.1.
Comment 10 thomas.lange 2002-08-01 09:42:05 UTC
This is most probably the same problem as in #i6546.
Could only be checked when this is fixed.
Comment 11 thomas.lange 2002-08-01 09:52:05 UTC
accepted
Comment 12 thomas.lange 2002-10-22 08:10:33 UTC
Fix integrated in OO 643 E.
TL->MRU: Please compare too #i6546#

Comment 23 Rainer Bielefeld 2003-08-29 07:04:16 UTC
Issue 12158 is a DUP of this one

I can not check whether the problem is solved for the Brasilian version,
because the only RC1 "Brasilian" I found is an _English_ version.

I Asked the reporter of issue 12158 to check that.
