Description fades 2005-01-01 23:32:36 UTC
Heya all.

I'm running the Hebrew version of OO 1.1 and encountered the following bug
while using several different windows versions including XP. When I change the
indentation of a paragraph and then save the document in a DOC format, I reopen
it to discover that the opening and closing indent-marks have come together to
meet at the middle of the line, which results in only one character being
displayed in any line of the paragraph. So I check the paragraph menu and see
meaningless numbers in the spacing and identation tabs that keep changing every
time I do so much as press Alt+tab until they reach -99.99 and stay there. When
I open the file using MS Word all is well.

I'm providing a simple example in an attachment: Example.doc. the
word "abcdefghi" should be in two lines, rather then 10.

I can repreduce the bug every time I try and change the identation, either
using the scroller or using the paragraph menu.

At a point I've thought this is the same bug reported as number 176 but that
old bug does not repreduce on my machine.

Regards,
 - Yoav -

Did you already upgrade to OpenOffice 1.1.4? I cannot reproduce such abehaviour
when using 1.1.4. From your attached file I can see thet there is a problem, but
this happens when saving to Word format, so please try out the same with newer OOO.

I'm running version 1.1.0 of OO with Hebrew support, which is the latest stable
version of its kind. Granted, the problem in the attached file can be avoided
if only I'll save the document in .sxw format rather than Word. However, it's a
defect nevertheless, plus the UI starts acting funny even before I save the
document in any format (as I've described in the issue description). Also, I've
found a problem with reidentation of styles which, IMHO, results from the same
issue.

Now I understand your problem... the paragraph indents are both of same value
after export, though they have been set with different values. I will attach a
document, that will show the problem clearly.

MRU->MMAHER: take my attached sample and export it to WW8 format. Reload the
.doc and see the paragraph indents have the same value. This only seems to
happen in RTL context.
