Description wkfoster 2004-12-25 04:21:34 UTC
save as jpeg request for enhancement
Comment 1 anpwhotep 2004-12-25 04:50:49 UTC
I'd suggest this be redirected to the drawing component, rather than word
processor. I'd also suggest using PNG rather than JPEG, but that's a nit
rather than a substantiative disagreement.

In drawing component, it is possible to save as jpg or other graphic formats via
File.Export!

Hi Walt,
this is a pretty poor description of your request "save as jpeg request for
enhancement". Surely mru can't understand what your intention is. Even if you
flagged it as 'component writer'. If you're willing to give us some more
details, feel free to reopen this issue.

From the user group discussion, he wants to be able to save a writer document as
.jpg or some other graphic file.

I think this is covered by the ability to export to .pdf, but he wants to do a
graphic file save from writer.

He is aware of the ability to do it from draw, but want to be able to go File >
Export > .jpg from writer in order to share the document.

Reopening & Changing Summary, Component and turning into Feature Request.

IMO this only makes sense in Writer for a selection of graphics/objects. It will
not make sense for texts longer than a page.

As of Version 3.2.0 Build 9483 No ability to Save -or- Export to a graphics
format such as .BMP .GIF was located. Perhaps I am blind????

This is an issue for me because, prior to installing an x64 OS my MS Office had
a built-in Graphics Printer Driver as part of it's install. (Microsoft Office
Document Image writer - Part of Microsoft Document Imaging.)

M$ in it's infinate wisdon dropped that support for x64 OS!!!!

I was hoping that going to Open Office would give me back this capability.

Apparently not...

No, .PDF will not do it for me, because I want to be able to edit the Graphics
Image after I create it.
