Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 39456
broken links in Indonesian How To files
Last modified: 2005-01-05 13:05:34 UTC
The files in the Indonesian how-to section should be completely inspected for broken links. Many links in the how to files point to the white board location ( http://whiteboard.openoffice.org/doc/ ) and should be updated to point to the current documentation project ( http://documentation.openoffice.org/ ) in the contact sections (and in the footers) of the how-to documents. There is definitely such links in the Calc4 document. All links in documents should be inspected by clicking on them to verify them and repaired if needed during translations to help keep all peripheral information current and available to the reader. Also, please report broken links found during the process to help keep all files up to date as much as possible. Refer to Issue 38552 for notes regarding link repairs in the English section (the attached text files will show the details of what was found for errors in that section.) Also there, only HTML files have been inspected so far; perhaps there are more bad links in the other files too. :( What a huge chore this has turned out to be. :)
Marking this issue as a blocker to the broken link issue, to help track things better from Issue 38552.
I am reassigning this issue to you, Willy, because you likely have the best access to all of the Indonesian How To files. I'm on dial-up and would need to download the files to inspect them, so I am being a little bit lazy. I hope you will accept this task as yours. I'm also removing the block to Issue 38552, because it seems like these issues can stand independently, especially because all documents with broken links on the Indonesian how to page are not HTML web files with broken links, but document files that will require updates for accuracy. I apologize for the broken links in the source files from which you translated. Seeing this unfold has taught me the importance of keeping documents that might be translated up to date, so that the errors do not migrate into newly provided documents.
sure, i will check all of the files that has been uploaded I also used a dial up connection and mine is slower than yours :)
this issues has been finished and it can be closed
