Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 39299
Formatting scientific notation
Last modified: 2004-12-20 09:11:03 UTC
Numbers in scientific notation are represented in the 'E' format eg: 2.56E-07. Allowing the format dialog to provide options for representing such a number as 2.56 times 10^{-7} (as this would appear in Calc) would make the document and numbers more readable and appealing.
From "Insert.Field" use the "Insert formula" or "User field variables". There you can format your numbers in different formats.
