Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 38698
support "legal outline numbering" (format levels independently)
Last modified: 2013-08-07 14:41:21 UTC
I faced requirements to create legal outline numbering for documents, including thesis. It has to contain roman numbers for chapters, and use all arabic for subchapters. Example: I. Chapter 1.1. subchapter 1.2. subchapter II. Chapter 2.1. subchapter 2.2. subchapter etc. MS Word has this feature named Legal Numbering This is my main obstacle to replace MS Office with OpenOffice.org
could you please attach a sample doc that contains this numbering? And could you explain who will need such a numbering? to make clear what this issue is about: OOo can only create an outline numbering I. I.1. I.2. but requested is I. 1.1. (first level numbering changed from roman-numerals to arabic numerals) 1.2.
Legal numbering is used by Lawyers and other legal departments workers.
My Documents are in Indonesian languages. But I can state that I am required to use that outline numbering style to make my master thesis. I hope this help
I'm a student from Indonesia too. I very often use this number formating in making my papers and I used MS Word. I'm really awaiting this feature in OpenOffice.org so that I could completely switch to using OpenOffice.org. Thank You. I also posted this in the forums: http://www.oooforum.org/forum/viewtopic.phtml?p=224195#224195
