I use a fresh installed 641D and and i also observed this in 642B.
If i enter "dot x" (or anything else like this: "dot{x}",...) the dot is much
too high above the x. the ornaments-high is set (as in default) to 0%, so there
is no possibility to reduce this.
The same applies for ddots, dddots, vec, tilde, wildtilde, circle, ... etc.
I don't think it is a font-problem, because everything else is displayed
correctly and i have not installed any special fonts.
