Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 36578
File Open dialog flashing
Last modified: 2005-02-28 10:07:44 UTC
File list seems to be cleared and repainted three times. X.Org version: 6.8.1.99 Depth: 24 Visual Class: TrueColor
SBA: Component changed to "framework". Reassigned to TM
Just two questions: Have you tried this with 680m60, too? Does this error also occurs there? If not: Could this issue be closed? And: What distribution are you using? I have not this problem here with OOo-1.9.60 and SuSE 9.1.
Yes, it's still there. With X.org and XFree86 as well. FC3.
Hi peterkovar thanks for using and supporting OpenOffice.org... I'm using SuSE9.2 and xdpyinfo gives me the following info: -----------snip----------- name of display: :0.0 version number: 11.0 vendor string: The X.Org Foundation vendor release number: 60801000 X.Org version: 6.8.1 -----------snap----------- I don't get the described effect. Please tell more about your system...
Not only file list, but other more complex dialogs are repainted more than once. 1.9.m62 behaves the same way. XFree86 4.3.0, WM used 5Dwm or Metacity. Tried on notebook w/ P3 at 900 MHz running FC3 default installation. Still the same. RH customized OOo 1.1.2 has GTK file selection box, which is not flashing but other dialogs are flashing.
as discussed with fl: set to won't fix... workaround: 1. start the Office 2. File open 3. select the files you want to open and click on ok ==> all selected files are opened... Maybe this is an explorer issue??
closing... feel free to reopen this issue if you have REALLY GOOD REASONS...
OOOPS... I was working on the wrong issue.... reopen...
Hi peterkovar, you wrote: "Not only file list, but other more complex dialogs are repainted more than once." Please tell me: Which dialog is flashing? I didn't find that dialog...
For instance Tools -> Customize... or Options... I've noticed that nasty clearing and repainting of dialogs occurs after focus change, even without obscuring the window at all!
Hi peterkovar, I wasn't able to reproduce this behaviour... Please try with our newest available version (should be m65 or newer) since there have been many fixes until now... :) I#m setting this to works for me...
no comments from peterkovar since mid of december... I assume this works now on peterkovars system, too... ==> closing...
