Description huggi 2002-03-21 19:59:19 UTC
I did test the german spell-checking feature in this build, for windows we had
serval problems with the spellchecking dll within 641C, which was fixed by
adding a new dll to the programm directory.

Now the problem is, that the word who are well known for the wordbook for
example "hat" (did in english), but if you're using this well known word at the
end of a sentence with dot after the word (for e.g. "... erklert hat.") the word
"hat." is not "well known" and the programm shows it with an underline.

I will try to fix that problem with Kevin B. Hendricks support, but in the
meantime, I just wann let you know, that this exists and if you know anything,
just drop me a line.

Cheers

Marco

TL: AFAIK this should not be language specific and I think it is
already fixed in a current SRC 642 version.
You may give the latest vesion a try.

I used 641C before, with the patched .dll, it worked corect for me.

Now with Version 642 (for which this issue is), this problem came up
for me the firsttime, so I created this issue. I have also feedback
from serval other users, explaining the same situation.

BTW: there is another problem with issue 3574 (displaying build
number), so I cannot give you the 642 build number, it was just the
version I downloaded last week on the german mirror.

Maybee you can take a closer look into this. Thanks.

Hi Marco,

The bug is in the version of MySpell that is in OO642. I never
upgraded it properly. I have focused on OOO_STABLE_1 which will
become OOo 1.0. Here the bug in MySpell has already been fixed. (We
need the period to properly detect abbreviations, but did not handle
it properly in 642).

I just didn't have the time to keep up both trees at once and
decided to focus on the tree that will be OOo1.0

Sorry about that.

Kevin
