Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 36080
cell background not in the table object bar
Last modified: 2004-10-27 09:54:40 UTC
If you use table, there are three levels of background you can set. Text background, paragraph, background and cell background. When you work with the table there are two toolbars you can switch between: Text Object Bar and Table Object Bar. There are threee buttons to change background available: two on Text Object bar and one on the Table object bar. Expected behaviour would be that the two on the Text object bar are for text and paragraph level and the one in the Table object bar would set cell background. This is not true. The button on table object bar sets paragraph background, so the cell background is not accesible via toolbars and paragraph background is accesible twice, which is highly illogical. Moreover i thing that when working with tables, the most ususal situation is to set the cell background [which is not accesible via toolbar at all], the second mos usual is to set text background [to highlight some individual words for example] and the less used is the paragraph background [which has two buttons - one on each of two toolbars]. So it is copletele the other way round then it should be. Jakub
Hi, as Calc does not have any paragraph object, this sounds to be a problem of writer. If this is not the case, please be more precise. Re-assigned to writer. Frank
Yeah, problem is known. See issue 12771. There must be selected at least one complete cell to apply the background color to the table/cell and not as paragraph background. *** This issue has been marked as a duplicate of 12771 ***
