Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 35247
Formatting Date fields to include 1st, 2nd, 3rd etc
Last modified: 2015-08-17 15:56:07 UTC
Would it be possible to implemtent an additional format for inserting date fields into a document that would enable the dates to be formatted like 31st December 2004? (some way of adding the st, nd, rd, etc to the day number)
Yes, it is... In the Insert.Field dalog click "additional formats..." in the format list and in the now appearing dialog "Number format" enter a format like D"st" MMM. YYYY in the "Format code" box.
Closed.
That solution doesnt work - if you enter D"st" and the day of the month is say, 2 you will get a date along the lines of "2st December 2004".
reassigned to BH. New Date Format is requested.

This enhancement depends on language UI used. In french, we just use 1st item with "1er" and no other. 2nd, 3rd, etc are not used in date format.
