Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 3428
Menus, listboxes etc. appear in first monitor (with dual headed graphics card)
Last modified: 2008-02-07 13:52:39 UTC
If using dual monitor mode in Windows, all drop down menus, listboxes, dialog boxes etc. appear on the primary monitor, even if you are working on the secondary one. This is very annoying, since you can only hardly use the mouse to navigate.
I'll take a look at it.

I noticed in one of the duplicate reports on this issue, someone mentioned not considering dual monitors into the calculations. When correcting this, please note that Win32 allows the user to move the layout of the displays, not necessarily lined up accross the top or with #1 on the left and #2 on the right (not to mention additional monitors beyond 2). The problem is not just limited to dual-head cards but also setups with multiple video cards.

I have the same problem with Windows 98 SE. If my secondary screen has a larger resolution that my primary screen, the drop down menus appear on the "invisible" area above the primary screen, so that I can only see the lower ends of them. In fact that is the one and only reason why I still have to work with StarOffice 5.2 :-(
