I try to open MS Office .dot -files and OOo hangs (see URLs). Only way to
continue is kill the process via taskmanager in windows. I have tried it with
w2k/XP, java 1.4.2_04, OOo 1.1.2.

I cannot reproduce the problem, the document opens fine on my system.
What is your default printer? I can imagine, that OO Writer has problem
formatting this doc for the printer...

The problem is with finnish localized version (build 11), 
not with original 1.1.2, sorry for the inexact information.

I'll confirm this in the Finnish build of 1.1.2, the Linux version. When I open
the file, OOo displays an error box and crashes.

However, I'll confirm it also in the official English (freshly installed)
version 1.1.2 on Linux, although it behaves a bit differently, by hanging.

It is interesting if this behaves differently in the English version, and is
build specific. The builds for the Finnish version are made by Pavel Janik. I
tried to open the file with his Czech (Pavel's Build 11 for OOo 1.1.2) and
Estonian (Build 15) versions of OOo, and it crashed just the same way. The
problem seems to persist in Pavel's 1.1.3 Finnish build (Build 11 for 1.1.3).
I'll send a note to Pavel if the problem really is build specific.

Can someone else confirm this in the official English builds?

I checked with 1.1.2RC3  (German) WIN XP: [645m44(Build8784)] 
Result: WFM

OOo 2.0 (1.9.m47) English version WIN XP: [680m47(Build8795)]
OOo 1.1.2RC3  (Spanish) WIN XP: [645m44(Build8784] 
OOo 1.1.0 German version WIN XP: 645m19(Build8693)

finpada, what are your preferences in "Load/Save - Microsoft Office" ?

Crash on Linux with this document is tracked as issue 30841. Maybe the fix for
this (in OO 1.1.4) will also solve hang on Win Systems with Finnish OO build...
