Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 3255
Cannot insert new line after imported table
Last modified: 2003-09-08 16:56:16 UTC
If you import a table from Word and that table has a new numbered paragraph immediately after the paragraph appears "attached" to the preceeding table. There is now no way to separate them. If this happens in Word itself it is possible to place the cursor immediately after the table and insert a <CR> there, this appears not possible with OO. You might think that going to the offending paragraph, pressing <Return>, going up a line and deleting the old numbered paragraph would do it, but the old numbered paragraph refuses to be removed ! Anyway, I'll attach a sample.
This is going to be more difficult than I thought. It appears that once imported into OO saving the document in Word format (no actual changes required), closing the window and re-opening the document cures the problem described above. Although this is a work around, it means that I have lost the original document that exhibited the problem described above :-(
As far as I understand your description correctly, you want to insert a blank paragraph between the table and the heading: this is possible. - set the cursor between numbering and heading text - press [Return] -> It depends here if you have set the numbering hard with the "1, 2" icon (a) or if you have automated the numbering over "Tools - Outline Numbering" (b): (a) press [Return] and the numbering disappears (b) apply a non numbered paragraph style to the current paragraph (Such as "Default") -> in both cases you now have: <table> <blank para> <numbered para>
doh !
As mentioned on the qa dev list on March 5th I will close all resolved <wontfix/duplicate/worksforme/invalid> issues. Please see this posting for details. First step in IssueZilla is unfortunately to set them to verified.
