Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 31448
Indexes and Tables gives an error box
Last modified: 2013-08-07 14:41:36 UTC
1. Go to Insert\Indexes and Tables\Indexes and Tables. 2. Select that option. Before the dialog opens, the error box is shown, which complains about lack of idxexample.sxw. The file is included with OOo, but it's not in the directories where OOo looks. I will attach a screenshot.

MRU->ES: pls have a look. Sounds like a 2.0 task...
It seems like you have modified the default template directory. Under Tools - Options - OOo - Paths, add the directory <OOo_path>\share\template\<language>. The preview can be found in the "internal" sub-dir. Don't mind about this error msg. The preview would make OOo crash if it would be found...:( See issue 30338
You are right, after restarting my PC I got the preview to display... with a crash, of course :( The stranges thing is that I haven't changed anything that could have caused this...
Just by the way, when OOo crashes I get the "Submit error" and after that a box which says that OOo crashed and the files were saved. But after clicking that box it freezes and doesn't close like it used to do. Is there an issue for this?
I apologize for spam I have made already, but I had some interesting (?) findings. Beeing sure I didn't change the paths myself, I wanted to verify if they were recovered for some previous installation or decided by Regional settings (which is Croatian (HR) on my machine). So I uninstalled OOo and deleted everything related to it. Then I did a clean install of 680m47. On first run, paths are set the same way as the error box shows, and pressing default doesn't change them, Indexes and tables function doesn't show preview. If I close Writer and Quickstarter and run Writer again, I get preview to show normally and get a crash and a freeze etc. So, there might be some kind of bug (?) in paths set right after installation, or am I mistaken?
