I have a word file that results impossible to print, after being opened 
perfectly. I tried to print it on a file and ghostview is unable to visualize 
it. All this unsing the generic printer driver. 
In the zip file at the url you can find the word file, the output postscript 
file generated by OpenOffice and the output log of ghostscript that show the 
error.

See the statement from CP: 
OOo has a bug when you print Type1 or printer-resident fonts with 
Symbol encoding. Pleases use a TrueType Symbol font as a replacement. 
The bug will be fixed in the next release
