Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 31115
Adding a column in table with merged cells
Last modified: 2017-05-20 10:11:36 UTC
1.Open a new text document. 2.Insert->table->5 by 2 (the default option will do) 3.Select the top row and "merge" it into a single cell. Now we want to add an extra column to the right of the table. 4.Click on the rightmost cell in the bottom row. 5.Right-click and Insert->column->1 OR $many It creates a ($many) copy (copies) of the entire table instead of adding an extra column. If I can help out with testing it please contact me at ivan.savov@gmail.com
MRU->BH: It works, as it once was designed to. It is a result of Writer's "complex" table handling (when having merged/splitted cells). The Insert.Column command refers to the superordinate column, which contains the sub-columns below it. A new algorithm, which differenciates the cursor position and inserts rows/columns from the current cursor position as desired.

Changed the owner to requirements.
This one is obsolete, we have a new table design since 3.x. Bug behavior with "AOO 4.1.0 Release – German UI / German locale [AOO410m18(Build:9764) - Rev. 1589052 2014-04-22 11:43:54]" on German WIN7 Home Premium (64bit)", “historic” 4. User Profile used for all predecessor versions till is rather strange, but different from the one in OOo 1.1. I will close this one (+ check DUPs) and submit new issues for the current problems, soon.
