Description creidieki 2004-07-02 02:51:34 UTC
Hi,

I've noticed that if I copy colored text from an xterm, and paste it into
OpenOffice Writer, the text is not colored in OpenOffice.

A good example of programs which output colored text is "ls --color=auto".

I've also verified this bug if copying from Gnome Terminal.

these applications only provide unformatted text to the clipboard. There's no
way for OOo to query the color.
Are there any applications that can paste colored output from a terminal?

I think you're right...pasting colored output doesn't even work if you paste
right back into the terminal. I'll look into whether that's an xterm bug or
unavoidable, but it's not OpenOffice's fault. Sorry!

As cloph pointed out, here's no bug in OO.
