User can see space \u0020 characters with "Nonprinting Characters On/Off"
functionality.
But Writer does not handle \u3000 (called IDEOGRAPHIC SPACE or Zenkaku Space or
double width space) as space. Japanese user often uses this character for space
and other major Japanese wordprocessors have capability to show this space
variant. So Writer should handle this, too.

SBA: If I get it right, then the full-width space (\u3000] shall be treated as a
space in terms of "show a middle dot". 
Since \u3000 is a full-width space, the replacing "middle dot" character must be
full-width too (otherwise the document layout would change when toggeling the
display of nonprinting characters). 

SBA-> Naoyuki: Wich character do other programs use for displaying a full-width
space? - I had a look at HG Mincho Light J" and the character  \u30FB looks like
the right one. Can you confirm this? Please comment.

Naoyuki->SBA: Yes, I agree to use \u30FB. Although MS Word uses square box
(looks like \u25a1) and Ichitaro uses underline (looks like \uff3f). So user
selectable may be best but I think fullwidth middle dot is reasonable choice for
us considering normal space representation of Writer.

SBA: Thanks, Naoyuki. It looks like some further investigation must be done
before we decide to implement a solution that is different from the
competitors'. I therefore change the issue type to "Enhancement" and reassign it
to Falko.

FT->YS: Can you please collect the following information and add it to this
issues, please:
In case a user turns on "Display non-printing characters" in Western/Half-Width
ASCII text a small 'dot' is used as a placeholder for spaces.
This is common sense in the "Western" world.
But what does a
- Japanese person expects? Word uses a square!
- Korean person expects? (I guess a 'dot' as Western languages)
- A Chinese person expexts?
