I did a fresh install and installed all components on Linux using the src680m43_01.
I started the Office and chose File->Autopilot->Letter and a message box
appeared that some files couldn't be found and that a "setup -repair" would help.
After doing a "setup -repair" java worked...

I installed 680m43-2 linux nonpro on two different machines. The first time Java
was working, however  the installation was corrupted because of network
problems.  The second time the installation was complete and I could run the
letter wizard without problems.

This behaviour is not reproduceable anymore on the same machine today...
I'm going to close this issue now...
