Description jsw 2004-05-27 18:35:37 UTC
Seeing crashes during AutoSaves. Usually this has happened while I'm in the
Open or Save As dialogs. If I happen to hit Save at the moment of AutoSave, it
a Windows Application crash.

Is that correct that you got the crash everytime you hit save when OOo still
autosaving ? or just sometimes

Please try using the latest OpenOffice 1.1.1 or maybe 1.1.2rc2 , you can
download it from http://download.openoffice.org/1.1.1/index.html
many bug fixes and enhancements since your version and 1.1.1 . If the problem
still happend in 1.1.1 please report back.
It maybe not yet solve your Issue, but it worth to try.

Well I'm a consultant and I've installed 1.1.1 on customer Win 98 SE machines
and have experienced the same AutoSave crash. So, I think it must be surfacing
somewhere near AutoSave. I have only seen the problem intermittently , maybe
20% of the time. It sound like a race condition, but isn't the code really
deterministic? That is a race between the Save and AutoSave. Save and AutoSave
should be mutually exclusive, once either is entered the other should be locked
out. That's my best guess not having examined those particular pieces of code.

MRU->ES: please clarify, if this seems to be a problem of sxw or more framework
(Save-Dialog on WinME maybe...)

Please describe step-by-step what you did most of the time to reproduce the crash.
When it crashes please send the crash report with the issue number in the title.
It sounds hard to reproduce because, while autsaving, the UI is disabled so you
shouldn't be able to save manually
