Description fpm 2004-05-21 00:15:46 UTC
(Following dba messages from
Ocke Janssen <Ocke.Janssen@sun.com> snd (Frank Sch=F6nheit)
http://dba.openoffice.org/servlets/ReadMsg?list=3Dusers&msgNo=3D1262)

I think that copying/exporting queries is essential if we must use and teach
Database to people.
While it is possible to export one by one via SQL copy and past or copying
DataAcees.xcu that is not adequate.
Also it is not (aparently) possible to make a macro to circunvent the beavior.
So:

Trial Specification:
Subject: Export a database query

General functionality: Export selected queries or in alternative all queries

Options: save open queries with current document (or only in Calc)

Functionality:
Option 1=20
Export
- Right click on selected queries
- Select export
- save [name].xcu file with "name of query" "SQL of each table" and cell
length=20 Import
- Right click=20
- Select import [name].xcu file
- Display queries
- Error - repeated queries name --< auto-add number at end of name of query

Option 2
- File Export - Selection (in alternative could be used the Administrate
Database -- queries=20
- Select table -- Option All tables
- save [name].xcu file with "name of query" "SQL of each table" and cell length
Import --< Just the inverse

Funcional Alternative
Save and load - All Database in SQL format, includin data and queries (like
using webmin or phpmyadmin with mySQL) in text format and with options to
include or not the data.=20

Hope to be useful to many people and I think not too difficult to implement,
because SQL is already there, names of tables/queries and lenght

Is this still a valid issue, or can it be closed?
Comment 4 bettina.haberer 2010-05-21 15:17:26 UTC
To grep the issues easier via "requirements" I put the issues currently lying on
my owner to the owner "requirements".
