Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 29313
Online help doesn't explain how to create new Impress Slide Design templates
Last modified: 2005-10-19 15:24:51 UTC
I can't find any info in the online help about where and how to place my costom slide designs designed by me. Ability to save the slide designs I've made for e.g. company presentations in a way that they are accessible as slide design templates (from "Format"->"Styles"->"Slide Design..."->"Load...") would be very useful for existing presentations where I'd like to integrate chosen company slide designs.
Is this an oversight in the help, or is this topic covered elsewhere?
It's an oversight. I've discovered myself that the designs are taken from all available presentation template files (those that show up when creating a new presentation). So for example if I save a presentation as a OO Impress template in ~/.openoffice/user/templates, I'll be able to load slide designs contained in it using "Format"->"Styles"->"Slide Design..."->"Load...". The "Load Slide Design" help document should note that.
.
according to the announcement on releases (http://www.openoffice.org/servlets/ReadMsg?list=releases&msgNo=7503) this issue will be re-targeted to OOo Later.
currently, templates are broken in 680 (see #i33614#), so it is difficult to find out how it should work.
With #i33614# fixed, finally I can today see on my system how it is supposed to work. Unfortunately, the final documentation deadline for SO8 beta was one hour ago... So it will be fixed in the help later.
