Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 2897
Using formula editor causes writer to crash on save
Last modified: 2003-09-08 16:53:10 UTC
I downloaded the 641 binaries for linux x86, running under Mandrake 8.0. When I edit an embedded formula in StarWriter component, the second save after editing will produce either an "invalid parameter" error, and then exit, or just kill the program. I have tried this on several files, and it appears to only happen on comparitively large files (>100kb). I have tried it on a >50kb file, and that appeared to be OK. The file I have which is crashing, happens every time I edit formulas, and don't close/reopen between saves after editing one, and if you need to check it it can be downloaded from http://www.srcf.ucam.org/~mjj29/content/notes/statistical.sxw . Note there are probably also some embedded images, and I may have imported it from Star Office 5.2 originally. The new formulas I have added since then (all but the first page) are having the above effect. If I open the file and don't edit the formulas, but just the text it appears to all be fine.
I could not reproduce this in a 7705 build. TL->MRU: Could you please try to reproduce? Even in an older OO version though we may know that if it occured there it has been fixed meanwhile.
MRU->TL: I was able to reproduce it with OO641. But it works fine with our internal Build. The next OpenOffice build also should work correctly.
Should work with OpenOffice 1.0.1
