Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 28580
invalid class string 680m36
Last modified: 2013-08-07 14:41:36 UTC
I use a veterinary program, Avimark, to merge data into OOo Writer. I received the error "Invalid class string" when I attempted a merge into the latest version of OOo 680m36. I am almost certain the merge was working on 680m34.

I do not understand in which way you try to merge data into OO Writer. Is it via Database access or something like this? The program "Avimark" is not known to us, and thus we cant test anything with it here.
I uninstalled m36 and reinstalled m34 and the merge works fine. I found m36 very buggy even without trying to interface with Avimark, and I have gone back to m34 at home as well as at my office. Avimark is the world's best-selling veterinary management software (I am a user/customer--I have nothing to do with the company other than as a user). It works with MSWord and, at my suggestion, with StarOffice and OpenOffice. It is used by over 6500 veterinary clinics with approximately 130,000 employees. You can download a trial version of Avimark at http://www.avimark.com/Demo/Index.aspx
reopened.
MRU->HI: looks like the user is merging the content via data base fields in Writer. The 3rd party program "Avimark" seems to be a database application, where OO could access the database. please see, if we have any problem in 680m36 or newer when merging data from external databases.
HI->MSC: It's looks to me as a data base issue.
