Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 28418
Size of bullet font differs between Word and Writer
Last modified: 2013-08-07 14:41:36 UTC
When you import an MSWORD document the margin sizes are changed from the original document. The effect of this is that if you have a document that just fits onto one page with small margin settings in word, when you import it into OOo Writer the margin size is inacurate and the document rolls onto another page. This is reproducable. The margin sizes should be read from the document and set in OOo Writer on a document for document basis.
please attach the offending document to this issue, so that we can reproduce and fix the problem here. You can also send the document directly (mru@openoffice.org) for the case it contains confidential data. Feel free to re-open the issue when you've done. Thanks for supporting us!
Please re-open this issue. I have e-mailed the offending document to mru@openoffice.org as it is a sensitive document.
Reopening issue. Doc has been sent.
MRU->FME: I'll forward you the doc via Mail (confidetial content). It seems, that there is a problem with the font "Tahoma", that this won't work correctly in OO though printer-independent layout. Text is exactly two pages long, but has some additional lines in OO Writer.
Changed title. The margins are not changed. The problem is that Word uses a different bullet font. Therefore the line size in bullet lists differs between Word and Writer.
FME: Most probably a compatibility option is needed for this. Therefore I set this to 'enhancement'.
