Description mandreiana 2004-04-27 12:29:55 UTC
Steps to reproduce:
1. File -> New spreadsheet. Default font is Luxi Sans, size 10
2. write "abc" text in A1
3. write "def" text in B1
4. click on A1, then on text entry in location bar (near "sum" and "=" icons)
5. mark text and cut with shift-del
6. click on B1, then on text entry in location bar
7. mark text and copy with shift-insert
8. press Enter. See how new "abc" text size is 5,1 (and also more fonts?).
Should instead be with old formatting (as I pasted text from entry, not entire
cell).

With Ctrl+X and Ctrl+V there are the same results. Copy and paste works fine,
problem is on Cut-paste

Using Fedora Core 1, don't know if it's applicable on MS Windows too.

Hi Henning,

I think it's the Edit Engine and therefore your construction site.

Because of a shortage of resources we have to retarget this issue to OOo later.

I was also able to produce this bug. Only difference is that my default font
is Arial size 10 and the font it went to was listed as "Andale Sans UI;Arial
Unicode MS;Lucida Sans Unicode;Tahoma;Bitstream Vera Sans;Interface
User;WarpSans;Geneva;Tahoma;MS Sans
Serif;Helv;Dialog;Albany;Lucida;Helvetica;Charcoal;Chicago;Arial;Helmet;Interfa
ce System;Sans Serif" size 4.7

System Specs:
Windows XP Pro SP2
3.0 GHZ P4
1 GB RAM
60 GB harddrive
Open Office v.1.1.2

I was able to successfully reproduce this bug on OpenOffice 1.1.0 running on
Linux 2.4.16, i686 processor. It seems that it doesn't matter what the font/size
or the location of the cell that information is cut from, when pasted using the
keyboard shortcuts, in my case it reverts to size 5.3 and font box displays the
following:
Andale Sans UI;Arial Unicode MS;Lucida Sans Unicode;Tahoma;Bitstream Vera
Sans;Interface User;WarpSans;Geneva;Tahoma;MS Sans
Serif;Helv;Dialog;Albany;Lucida;Helvetica;Charcoal;Chicago;Arial;Helmet;Interface
System;Sans Serif.

This was the case for both Shift-Insert/Delete as well as CTRL-X/V combination
of commands. Using the Edit menu to cut/paste did not result in the bug.
Copy/Paste also worked fine.

System: Windows XP Professional Intel Pentium 4 2.53GHz 512MB RAM
OpenOffice.org 1.1.4

Same results under: Linux 2.4.26 Intel Celeron 766MHz 128MB RAM
                    OpenOffice.org 1.1.0

The bug appaers no matter what content in the cells (e.g. text, numbers). Using
Shift+Del & Shift+Insert as well as Ctrl+X & Ctrl+V cause the bug to appaer. If
you don't mark the content of the cells before cutting and pasting, none of
these key combinations cause the bug to happen. Using Edit -> Cut & Edit ->
Paste from the file menu does not result in the bug, no matter if the cell
content is selected or not. It does not matter what font one starts with. Even
if one formats the two cells with different fonts before following the steps,
the Font Size and the Font Name box will always change to the same strange
values. In my case they were size 4.4 and
"Andale Sans UI;Arial Unicode MS;Lucida Sans Unicode;Tahoma;Bitstream Vera
Sans;Interface User;WarpSans;Geneva;Tahoma;MS Sans
Serif;Helv;Dialog;Albany;Lucida;Helvetica;Charcoal;Chicago;Arial;Helmet;Interface
System;Sans Serif" on the Windows system

Tested with OOo 2.0.3 (680m173 b9040), WinXP.

Problem still occurs as originally posted. Surely a framework issue.

Still an issue in OpenOffice.org 2.3.1, Win XP SP2.

is this the same issue as https://bz.apache.org/ooo/show_bug.cgi?id=8461 ?

Yes, the description looks if it's the same problem. Therefore I'm closing the other issue as duplicate.
