Description jmills 2002-01-11 14:24:23 UTC
I can not get an MPEG video to play within a presetnation.

Create a presentation

Add slide; type Title, Object

Click to add the object, from file (attached file; 5sec.mpg)

Set the interaction to be "Start the Object" and "Play" or "Open"

run the presetnation slide show.

Click object - it does not start, or shows one frame and freezes.

(Notes: I have managed to set the properties of presentation on Windows
to open in a different window. If I do this I have to set OpenOffice
to not run "Always on Top". However you can't get a full screen playback to
occur;
it pops up a windows and you have to place and resize the controls and window.)

(Further note: On StarOffice 6 beta, Insert Object Video gave no error message
and did not
insert the MPEG file - possibly because it was not a AVI file which is the only
option
offered in the filename dialog. OO641 allowed it but would not play the
embedded objec
saying MMSYSTEM error (I think it was 266)

The bug is fixed in a 641x. The problem was, that the inserted video
kept not on top (fullscreen and window).

With OOo RC1, WinXP, an ole video-object configured to play in full
screen is falling back to the window-mode again.

It looks as if OOo steals the focus from the video-player only to give
it back right afterwards, causing the video to "lose" the fullscreen
display mode. "Always on top" is turned off for the presentation.

Comment 7 christian.guenther 2003-10-09 09:23:22 UTC
I can't reproduce the bug any time longer.
Please tell me if the bug still exist in the latest version.
Comment 8 Unknown 2003-10-09 13:27:19 UTC
I cannot confirm that the problem is solved. Still the video object
loses it's focus just to get it back right afterwards, which makes it
play in window mode rather than in fullscreen.

No change here between RC1 and v.1.1 final. OS is Windows XP
Professional. This did not happen with v.1.0.3.
