Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 28017
Importing CSV Unicode Files
Last modified: 2004-07-15 16:02:13 UTC
It is not possible to import CSV files in UNICODE format in the SpreadSheet. The file is always imported to the Word Processor. You need to record the file in ANSI or UTF-8 to be able to import inside the SpreadSheet.
Hi, I was not able to reproduce what you're facing. Please attach a document that will not be opened by Calc and describe step by step how you're proceeding. Frank
As I've got no response and can't reproduce it, I close this Issue as worksforme. Frank

fts, I confirm this bug. I am using OO.o 1.1.2 (Italian) on a PC with XP prof as OS. The procedure, for importing data in a spreadsheet from an external CSV file, stops at the 2nd window, showing the sub-window "available sections/tables" to be filled. But it cannot be filled ---> so the button OK cannot be clicked and the import does not happen!. The text file is attached below. I have also prepared 2 jpg files showing the windows, but I don't know how to attach graphic files this comment (If they can be useful, send me an email). Hi Mariano, what you're facing has nothing in common with unicode txt files. Your problem is that youwant to use Insert External Data with a non valid data type. This is covered by Issue 1834. Frank
