Description stx123 2004-04-20 11:27:51 UTC
If available the Error Page should mention the URL of the referring page for
"page not found" or "project not found" errors.

St

The current method of display of error when u try to browse a non existing
project is

>Error
>The project mohantest you are trying to access does not exist in
openoffice.org. >See the project list for a list of valid projects.

From what i understand you would like to have the functionalilty

>Error
>The project mohantest ( http://mohantest.openoffice.org) you are trying to
access >does not exist in openoffice.org. See the project list for a list of
valid >projects.

OR

Did you mean to have the URL your at before the error page occurred, an
example would be idle

If either of this is correct
Can you please update us with the business importance & example so that our
engineers can prioratize the request

Thanks

mohan

I'm not only talking about browsing to a non-existing project. I would generally
like to see the referring URL (the page you were before) on the Error page.

An expample is the URL http://test.openoffice.org/notfound.html which points to
a non-existing page (in other words: is a broken link).
The referring page (http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=28012)
should appear on the Error page.

This is an existing request that was rather low in priority. Added this request
to it and increased the priority given the simplicity of adding this detail to
the error page.

Hi,

The enhancement request is considered for the future release of CEE. Support
will continue to monitor this internally and review it in the corresponding release.

St,

This was mistaken earlier for another similar enhancement request where the
Fatal error messages caused by any internal errors are now displayed with the
referring page url and the target page url.

Considering this request for 'Add (link to) referring page to error page', I
understand this is aimed only at the broken links and non-existing projects,
which is yet to be addressed. I have filed a separate internal ticket specific
to this request.

Reopening this so that this gets proper tracking.

Jeeva
