Here's how to see the issue.

Click on a cell.  Enter data (or not - it doesn't matter).  Hit tab a few 
times (once, twice, 12 times - it doesn't matter).   Hit enter.

In OOo - any version that I've tested, it just drops down to the cell below 
the one you hit enter in.

In Excel, if you do the same sequence, it drops down, and returns to the cell 
below the cell you started the sequence at.

I hope I don't seem hyper-critical.

One thing that there is in MicroSoft Office that don't there is in OOo doesn't
means that it is an defetct.

You may press Home when you need that the focus go to the first column.

When you type something before press Tab the Excel returns to the previous
column, OOo don't do it.
