Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 26975
Round Table Network Presentation
Last modified: 2004-03-25 17:03:17 UTC
Here is the idea. I have a group of people at a table or in a room. I want to give them a presentation, but I don't have a projector. Everybody has a laptop computer with OpenOffice installed. What I want to do is give the presentation so that everybody will be able to view the presentation on their own laptop. They will be able to see the cursor move to point things out, they will see transition effects, and slides as they occur on my computer. I'm not exactly sure of the implementation but I believe it would go something like this. 1) Host OpenOffice would act as a server and download presentation to all clients. This would/could be done at any time during the presentation (for late comers etc.) 2) Host OpenOffice would send commands to clients to tell it to move cursor, change slides, etc. 3) Client OpenOffice would perform commands. --Jim
Hello Jim, for the purpose you are describing there already exist tools. These tools have the ability to "broadcast" everything you do on your computer to other "receivers", no matter which program you are using.. Consequently there is no need to have this implemented by OpenOffice. I hope you are not disappointed, but i will close this issue. Thank you for supporting OpenOffice.Org! Max, OOo Volunteer
